So, last night I drank more port than I should have (2.5 medium size glasses) but it was very nice. But THEN I got the munchies and ate two of those 100 calorie pudding snacks. Bah.
Anyway, today is a new day.
I'm eating 10 strawberries
5 almonds
1 cup fat-free vanilla yogurt
.25 cup of yogurt.
That should last me through the morning, then I'll have the other half of that bake.
Tonight is dinner at a friend's house, so I'm going to have to be careful.
Thanks so much for the comments and the welcome! I did download CoM, but I am still figuring out how it works.

Good for you, Caroline!
Do you read April's blog? She has *so* much good information in her archives. Read any of Walford's books and you'll learn a lot, too.
I'll email you and Jacq soon so we can nail down a day and time to get together.
Again, welcome!

Hey Caroline!
Congrats on starting your own blog!
Wow, you are so tall. I bet you can use those high shelves in the kitchen that I just look at.
A few things: give a shot at starting your day with all protein and fat, no carbs. I bet the eggwhite scramble with flax oil will help your craving problem a lot.
Don't go below 1650 if you're weighing and counting. A real 1650 at your age and height will make you lose weight. Much lower and you may lose too fast or set yourself up for a binge. But beware of restaurant food... it usually has many more calories than we think.
Birth control is awful, isn't it? I finally started CR when I finally went off the Pill for the last time. Couldn't do it before. Those hormones make you eat, there's no way around it.
I know what you mean about wine... I'd much rather have an extra glass of wine than a cookie or whatever. It's just so yummy! the good thing is that you can fit it into a healthy diet, and enjoy it while still keeping your calories low and nutrition high.
Finally, take it slow. Don't expect perfection -- no one but MR is CR perfect, and he's weird! Start with loving yourself and treating yourself well. And feel free to ask us if there's anything we can do to help!

Yum, I want some port!
Hi Caroline,
Welcome to the CR blogesphere.
Good job on starting up your CRON practice, I'm so glad to 'meet' you.
Cleaning up the junk food is def. your first priority, but remember to stick with the foods you love and know, just adjusting your portions for CR at first. Then this wont seem like a huge imposition on your lifestyle when the newness and excitement wears off (Which could be ages, it hasn't worn off for me yet and it's been five months, which i actually see as a really good thing!) Try some new things every once in a while. There are so many incredible people out there practicing CR and they have beautiful recipes and ideas that you can adopt..slowly!
I wouldn't worry so much about "whether" or not you will lose, I would concentrate on eating the healthiest food you can within your comfort zone. The weight will slide off, it's the side effect of CRON. Remember the reasons here: long, healthy, CR life. No rush for you, everything will happen.
Take care!
:-D
Thanks everyone!
I did end up eating some candy, 1 slice of pizz and some grapes, almonds, and red wine. I stayed within my calorie target but of course my nutrition was shot to hell. But I love how each day is a new start. :)
It is so encouraging to get all of these great comments from everyone. What a wonderful, supportive community. I feel like I am leaping over the learning curve a lot, with so much great help.
